Finlandia

On 24th August we headed for Finland to relax our over-stressed nerves. It was nice, true-to-the-objective, we came back almost fresh and re-juvenated. Many asked why Finland, the answer is simple we got a good deal in a five star resort, a two bed room apartment in a breath taking background in Lapland, complete with a barbecue, personal sauna and bicycles for the family...( See http://www.holidayclub.fi/portal/english/spa_hotels/holiday_club_katinkulta )
Sid with his favorite steam engine in Helsinki ( Helsingfors as finnish call it)

Molly and kids in the backdrop of
Helsingfors cathedral ( This is the only one beautiful cathedral we saw in whole Finland, others were bland of any architecture)

View from the Helsinki cruise, the biggest sea fortess island ( built by russians during world war), zoo and small beautiful islands were the main attractions. This part of the sea is less salty and totally frozen in winter, amazing.

Colorful traditional indoor market in Helsinki Marina ( built in 14th century ??)

Our apartment and views straight behind:

Trip to Arctic Circle ( Rovaniemi )

In the Arctic Circle , With Santa Claus

This pretty beast would have costed our life on our way back, by popping up in the middle of the road curiously looking straight in our eyes ..

I took the revenge by gobbling this delicious rheindeer pizza. See the paradox, SantaKlaus's favourite animal is the delicacy in SantaClaus restaurant.

Day train jouney back from Kajaani..
Amazing double decker with childrens playroom

Bye Bye Helsinki..
